In the latter-morning light, there leaned a man against a marble pillar, in the midst of a large, opulent garden. He was youthful and strong-jawed. His well-kempt hair matched his delft-blue cassock in martial elegance. "Kaaay-lan!" spake a familiar voice. The soldier turned and saw another man, making his way along the tanned bricks of the garden path. "Daxus." Kaelan replied, with a friendly grin. Daxus stood about a hand's length taller than Kaelan.
